Adult Disability Day Services

Adult Disability Day Services are community- based supports for adults with disabilities, delivered in partnership with the HSE and voluntary organisations across the country.

Day Services staff work within a team to support people with disabilities to live ordinary lives in ordinary places. Our Day Services teams provide support to enable people to participate in the everyday things in life and to have a meaningful social role – to be a part of their community, develop life skills and facilitate personal and social development, explore further education and employment.

Working in Adult Disability Day Services involves getting to know the people you are supporting and identifying what matters most to and for each individual person.

Day Services teams consist of a diverse mix of health and social care workers, which include:

  • Health Care Assistants/Care Assistants/ Community Access Facilitators support development of skills, competencies, and experiences to enable community participation. Provide assistance with daily activities and personal care. Support people to live full and meaningful lives in valued roles by connecting and accessing equal opportunities in community such as education, employment and volunteering.
  • Health and Social Care Professionals: : Social Care Workers and Social Care Leaders focusing on person centred planning and support needs, liaising with multidisciplinary teams.
