The HSE is engaging with final year Health & Social Care Professional students in Irish and UK universities through webinars designed to create awareness about career opportunities in the HSE and to highlight active recruitment campaigns.

Each webinar is conducted with a guest speaker who gives insights into their education and career to date.  We also talk through the HSE recruitment process, discussing what applicants can expect when commencing their recruitment journey.

We offer advice on the application and interview stages, what to expect when seeking registration from CORU, what to expect following the interview, and much more.

Physiotherapy Staff Grade National Campaign

Here we speak with Sinead Lanigan, a recently graduated Physiotherapist who has been working in St Luke’s, Kilkenny since September 2023.

Sinead gives her insights into her education and career to date and offers further information on the support and guidance since joining the HSE.

Also, Sinead goes through what her interview was like and offers some additional advice on this area.

Speech and Language Staff Grade National Campaign

We invited Aine Walsh who recently completed her masters in UL and joined the team in Wexford General Hospital in August 2023 to gives an introduction to her education and career to date.

She highlights the various opportunities available to new graduates and also gives her advice on the interview and recruitment process.

Occupational Therapy Staff Grade National Campaign

We speak with Irina Jackson who is currently a Children’s Disability Network Team Manager.

Irina gave us an insight into her career as an Occupational Therapist, she also highlights opportunities and different career pathways available to an Occupational Therapist within the HSE.

Professionally Qualified Social Workers

We invited Donal Gill, Principal Social Worker at Galway University Hospital, to joins us to speak about this discipline.

Donal gave us an insight into his education qualifications and his 24 years’ professional career that went from its beginning as Social Worker in Residential Child Care to Child Protection, CAMHS, Adult Disability and Acute setting in different locations.

He gave his insights into the interview process and offers guidance for students in preparation for their interview.

Dietitian and Podiatry

We have two guest speakers on this webinar to discuss the roles of Dietitian and Podiatry: Ruth Kilcawley, HSCP Development Manager who has worked as Dietitian for over 20 years and Caroline Mc Cluster, Podiatry Manager.
