Health and Social Care Assistants (Therapy Assistants) are key members of Children’s Disability Network Teams.

Children’s Disability Network Teams provide specialised support and services for children and young people aged up to 18 years, who have complex health needs associated with their disability.

There are 93 Teams which are led by the HSE and its Partner Organisations – Enable Ireland, Brothers of Charity, Central Remedial Clinic, Avista, St. Michael’s House, Cope Foundation, St. Gabriel’s, St. Joseph’s Foundation, Stewarts Care, and CoAction.

Who will I be working with?

Children’s Disability Network Teams are made up of many healthcare professionals which includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Psychologists, Social Workers, and Speech and Language Therapists.  Health and Social Care Assistants (Therapy Assistants) are valued members of these teams also.

Health and Social Care Assistants (Therapy Assistants) carry out delegated aspects of client care and provide support to Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and other Health and Social Care Professionals.  They also carry out administrative work.

Whether you’re at the start of your career or have already begun your journey, your personal and professional development will be supported.  We provide many opportunities for you to further your learning.

Children’s Disability Network teams follow a family centered practice approach.  This means you will get to know children and their families, find out their goals and help them use everyday activities to achieve their goals.
