In-Reach Teams

In-Reach teams are being established across the HSE in 2026 and 2027. The establishment of these teams will improve access to autism assessment by building more integrated services for children, young people and ultimately adults through integrated, multidisciplinary care and support.

In-Reach teams are multidisciplinary teams of Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists supported by an administrator. The teams will work in partnership with Primary Care, Disability Services and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to help provide timely assessments for children and young people.

Shaping better pathways

Working in an In Reach team means being part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team supporting children and young people to access timely autism assessment, care and support.

Principal Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists lead and support high-quality, evidence-based assessment and clinical decision-making.

  • Principal Psychologists support understanding of emotional, behavioural and developmental needs.
  • Speech and Language Therapists support understanding of communication development needs.
  • Occupational Therapists support understanding of functional, sensory and developmental needs.
  • Administration staff play a key role in coordinating services and supporting families through the assessment process.

By working closely with Primary Care, Disability Services and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, In-Reach teams help create more connected services and better outcomes for children and families.

A growing service with national impact

The focus of In-Reach teams is on working together, building local capacity and making sure children, young people and their families can access the right support when they need it. It’s a collaborative, practical model that aims to make services more consistent, accessible and responsive.

As the service continues to grow, there will be opportunities to contribute to service development, strengthen local pathways, and shape how care is delivered in the future.

It’s an opportunity to be part of a developing model with real, long term impact.
