University Hospital Limerick (UHL) is the largest acute hospital in the HSE Mid West, providing emergency, surgical and medical services on an inpatient and outpatient basis to a population of some 410,000 people. We are now expanding the UHL campus, located in Limerick City in Ireland’s beautiful Mid West region, to add over 100 new medical beds.

All new modern wards will have en-suite rooms which provide increased privacy and dignity for our patients.

They also provide for the most modern work practices for our staff to allow them to provide the best possible care for patients.

The development of our staff to meet the changing nature of healthcare and to provide the best possible patient care is a priority for us. We do this through in-house training, research  and academic programmes supported through the University of Limerick, our academic partner.
